The Space
Tucked into the woods of Traphill, NC, the Glass Globe is a secluded geodesic dome designed for relaxation, reconnection, and nights that actually look like the sky. This is luxury glamping — full AC, hot water, a real kitchen, a walk-in shower — surrounded by trees instead of neighbors.
Soak in the private hot tub after a day on the trails, gather around the fire pit as the sun goes down, or climb the ladder to the stargazing loft and fall asleep watching the stars come through the top of the dome. It's the kind of trip that's hard to put into words and very easy to want to repeat.
A short walk along a nature path leads you from the private gated parking to the dome — just three steps inside and it feels immediately like somewhere you don't want to leave.

Location
Traphill sits in Wilkes County between Stone Mountain State Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway — the kind of place that doesn't show up on most travel lists, which is exactly the point. With virtually no light pollution and dense tree cover on all sides, the Glass Globe offers some of the best stargazing conditions in the region.
The surrounding area has excellent hiking at Stone Mountain, the Yadkin Valley wine trail nearby, and the Blue Ridge Parkway within a short drive. Winston-Salem and Charlotte are both easy drives for guests coming from the Piedmont.
Good to Know
This is glamping. You'll have AC, hot water, and a real kitchen — but you're in nature. Bugs and outdoor elements are part of the experience.
Satellite Wi-Fi. Internet is provided but can be weather-dependent. If fast internet is essential, this may not be the right fit.
Loft access by ladder. The stargazing loft requires climbing a ladder. Not suitable for guests who can't do stairs.
Exterior cameras only. Security cameras monitor the driveway and exterior. No cameras inside or near any private spaces.
Pets welcome. Dogs are allowed with a $200 pet fee. The yard is private and wooded but not fully fenced.
Self check-in. Access via lockbox. Entry instructions are sent before your arrival. No need to meet anyone in person.
